Ipsy Glam Bag February 2014

Now it's time for Ipsy!!! Unlike Birchbox, they had a Valentine's theme this month!

This month's theme is The Look of Love!

February Bag

This is such a cute bag! I just love the pink cheetah print inside!!

Pop Beauty Plump Pout Mini (Fuchsia Freesia)
Deluxe Size (0.14 oz)-$7.47 Value!

Everyone got one of these, but you could have also received it in the color Peony Petal. I've received a few of their products in previous Ipsy bags which I really enjoyed, so I'm sure I'll like this one too. I was also hoping to get this shade, so I'm glad Ipsy got it right!!

Zoya Nail Polish (Dot)
Full Size (0.5 fl oz)-$8 Value!

Every Ipster also got one of these, but some received it in the color Odette, a purple shade from the naturel collection. While this looks like a nice pink shade from the Awaken Spring collection, I'm  suppose to be getting a similar shade by Lauren B. Beauty in my Glossybox later this month. But I really can't complain since I love Zoya polish! Plus it's full size and a perfect shade for Valentine's!!

First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser with Red Clay
Deluxe Size (1 oz)-$5.11 Value!

This was a variation item. You could have instead received Uberliss RituOil, PHYTO-C Velvet Gel, Skyn Iceland Fresh Start Mask with Ice Age Mud, IPKN NY Moist & Firm BB Cream, Pacifica Hawaiian Ruby Guava Body Butter, NuMe Intense Renewal Mask, or Dr. Lin Skincare Acne Spot Corrector.  The only other item I wanted to try was the Pacifica product, but I am content with receiving the cleanser because it will come in handy at the gym!

J. Cat Beauty Eyelashes + Eyelash Glue (EL15)
Full Size-$3.99!

This was a variation item, in which you got two. Some Ipsters received this in style EL43, EL747L, EL747XS, EL01, EL05, EL13, EL15, EL20, EL66, or EL213. You could have instead received Jesse's Girl 9 Pan Eye Shadow Compact, City Color Be Matte Blush, Mally Beauty Evercolor Starlight Waterproof Eyeliner, or Tini Beauty Eyetini Cordial Cream Shadow + Base In One.

I would have rather received the Mally Beauty eyeliner since I am an eyeliner junkie and have yet to try any Mally Beauty products. But I'm more in need of lashes than liner, so I guess this wasn't a bad pick. I do like that they included glue, so I don't have to go out and purchase some in order to use these. But it would have been nice to get a different style since this one reminds me of the Foxy False Eyelashes I got from BH Cosmetics.

Jesse's Girl 9 Pan Eye Shadow Compact (The Eyes Have It)
Full Size (0.22 oz)-$3.99!

You could have also received this palette in Tickled Pink, Brown Eyed Girl, and Behind Blue Eyes. I'm so happy that Ipsy matched this palette to my eye color, so this will compliment me well. I really liked the liquid liner I received in my September bag, and this palette also didn't disappoint. The shadows have decent pigmentation and the colors are pretty flattering. This turned out to be my favorite item in this month's bag!

Total Paid: $10.00
Total Value: $28.56!

Overall, this was a pretty good bag this month. I was surprised by how much I ended up liking the Eyeshadow palette. It just goes to show you that sometimes it's good to try out new products that you may have prejudged. You just might end up finding a hidden gem!!

SEPHORA COLLECTION Advanced Airbrush Set

Hey everyone, today I'm going to show you one of my new makeup brush sets!

SEPHORA COLLECTION Advanced Airbrush Set
Retail $65.00 ($170 Value)

Airbrush Powder (flat powder), Airbrush Precision Foundation,
Airbrush Concealer, Airbrush Crease, Airbrush Shadow

After being so disappointed with the quality of the BH Cosmetics Berry Brush Set I purchased online, I decided I had to buy my next set in person. So I went to my local Sephora inside JCPenny to check out the softness of the brushes and get an associate's opinion. After some consideration, I decided upon this set even though it was a little bit more than I was originally planning on spending. But I am very happy with these brushes and can attest to their quality. This set was definitely worth the investment. If you are looking to purchase a new set of brushes, I highly recommend considering this set.

Free Samples: Ole Henriksen Walnut Complexion Scrub, Ralph Lauren Romance Eau de Parfum, and Versace Bright Crystal Eau de Toilette,

And I'm so excited to announce that this purchase made me a VIB ROUGE!!

What makeup brushes do you like to use?
Do you like to buy a complete set or various brushes from different product lines?

Ipsy Glam Bag November 2013

Hey guys, Happy Thanksgiving!!
Today I'm so excited to finally show you what I received in this month's Ipsy bag!!

Ipsy's theme this month is Glam It Up!

November Glam Bag

This month's bag has been the best one yet! I absolutely love the gold snakeskin design with the pink trim along the top-it is absolutely gorgeous!! Plus, it's a wristlet, so I'll definitely be rocking this bag during the holidays! And to top it all off, we got 6 items in this month's bag!!!

Em Michele Phan Lip Gallery Creamy Color Lipstick (Violaceous)
Full Size (3.5 g)-$16.50!

If you haven't already heard, Michelle Phan recently came out with her own cosmetics line, Em Cosmetics! This month we all received one of four items from her new line in our Ispy bags. Ipsters could have instead received a Waterliner Intense Color Eyeliner, Pillow Plush Cushiony Lip Balm, or Lash Gallery Mascara from Em Cosmetics.

Those who received a lipstick got either the Lip Gallery Creamy Color Classic Lipstick or Lip Gallery Color Sheer Lipstick. I received one from the latter, though I was really hoping to get one of the waterliners. I really want to try Turquoise and Teal Tease!! But I do like that the lipstick I received is moisturizing with a buildable tint.

Be A Bombshell Lip Crayon (Hot Damn)
Full Size (2.5 g)-$14.00!

Everyone also received a lip crayon in their bag, but some received the color Shameless. I think lip crayons are fun, but they aren't always as moisturizing as I'd like. But this shade works well with a lip balm on top. I'm not usually a red-wearer, but I do think it's a great color for the holidays.

Nailtini Straight Up Color Nail Lacquer (Caviar Cocktail)
Full Size (0.5 fl oz)-$13.00!

Everyone got a polish in their bag, but the other color you could have received was Champagne. I  have been wanting to try Nailtini for a few months now, so I'm excited to finally get one in my bag! The color I received resembles the one I got in my Birchbox this month, but unlike the Color Club polish I got, this one is a full size!! It sucks to get a dupe, but at least both subscription services are on trend for the holidays and picked a color I'd definitely rock!!

Pixi Beauty Bronzer (Subtly Suntouched)
Deluxe Size (0.11 oz)-$11.38

You could have also received this bronzer in the darker shade, Summertime. I wasn't psyched to get this in my bag, but I will say this is a pretty good sample size. I had a hard time finding the true value of this sample because the bronzer is only sold with a kabuki brush valuing $18 for the set. I saw that one Ipster based the sample cost on the cost per oz of Pixi blushes, so I'm going with that. I feel this color is too light to be a true bronzer, but it does make for a decent highlighter. Plus I think the smooth light green packaging is cute, so maybe I'll be giving Pixi a shot after all.

Starlooks Gem Eye Pencil (Amethyst)
Full Size (2.4 g)-$14.00!

Everyone got one of these in their bag, but some received this gem pencil in the color Topaz, a blue silver. I have heard so many good things about Starlooks, so I am ecstatic to finally try one of their products!! I love eyeliners and don't have any like this one, so it's a perfect addition to my collection!! I love the packaging and color-the purple silver shade will be perfect to use on my waterline or to line the inner corners of my eyes for the holidays!!

BH Cosmetics Galaxy Chic Baked Eyeshadow Sample (Eclipse)
Deluxe Size (0.89 oz)-$1.28

This was one of the variation items you could have received. The other items you could have received were HSI Professional Argan Oil, Kiss everEZlashes Lash Double Pack, TRESemme TRES Two Hold Hairspray Travel Size, Cailyn Built-In Sponge Tip Mineral Eye Shadow, and GLAMGLOW YOUTHMUD Tinglexfoliate Treatment.

This is a full size eye shadow from their new Galaxy Chic Baked Eyeshadow Palette. The other colors you could have received were Sun, Aphrodite, Neptune, or Asteroid. I swatched this sample shade from my palette to show you as I will be giving away this sample. I would have been really psyched to get this sample if I hadn't already owned the palette. But I have to tell you that I  love this palette so much that I will be doing a separate post with a complete set of swatches of this palette for you soon!!!!

Total Paid: $10.00
Total Value: $70.16!

This was the best Ipsy bag we have gotten by far! Not only did we get mostly full size products in a bag that's perfect to use for the holidays, but we got an extra item this month!

BH Cosmetics Splurge

I first tried BH Cosmetics when I received a custom-made sample featuring shades from their California Collection in my first Ipsy bag back in July. I wasn't thrilled upon initial receipt because I had already purchased so much eyeshadow during an Urban Decay sale, but despite this I tried out the colors anyway. I was pleased with the color selection, but not enough to purchase any of the full size palettes. However, when I heard about their new Galaxy Chic Baked Eyeshadow Palette, I changed my tune!! I have been a new converter to baked eyeshadow since I tried out the SEPHORA COLLECTION Izak Baked Eyeshadow Palette, and now I can't wait to try more!! But you know me, I couldn't just buy the one item that I had my eye on-I had to stock up on some other goodies!!

False Eyelashes "Foxy"
Retail $4.95 on sale for $2.95!

I'm trying to get into wearing false eyelashes more and figured these were worth a try at this price!

BH Party Girl Palette
Retail $17.95 on sale for $8.00!

I was interested in this limited edition palette-I don't know about you but anytime something is limited edition it makes me want to hurry up and buy it before it's no longer available!! I like the palette design-with 40 shades it holds enough colors to create any desired look, but is slim enough for easy carrying on the go.

Eyes On The '60s Eyeshadow Palette
Retail $19.95 on sale for $9.95!

I decided to purchase this palette after seeing the featured video and swatches on BH Cosmetics Facebook page. The palette design is pretty groovy and the shadow colors look so vibrant! These shades are definitely a bit out of my comfort zone, but I feel that they will help me expand my eye makeup techniques. I can't wait to replicate the two looks shown in the video!!

Galaxy Chic Baked Eyeshadow Palette
Retail $22.95 on sale for $14.00!

The whole reason I initially decided to place an order was because of this palette. After seeing the awesome palette design and gorgeous swatches online, I just had to have it!  I just love the whole idea of this palette-I think the theme is so cool and the palette very pretty! I can not wait to try these astronomical shades!!

Neons & Neutrals Steal (120 Color 2nd Edition + 12 Piece Berry Brush Set)
Retail $54.90 on sale for $20.00!

After seeing an emerald eye look on the BH Cosmetics Facebook page, I debated about purchasing the 120 Color Palette to recreate it. I figured I had enough eyeshadow and didn't really need an additional 120 shades, but also thought it would be the ultimate palette to enhance my makeup skills! If you couldn't tell, I love eyeshadow!!  In the end, I decided to purchase the 2nd Edition and Berry Brush Set combo. The palette alone was on sale for $16.95, so I figured for just $3 more I could get a complete brush set! These brushes are so pretty-I'm glad to have an extra set to leave at my Boyfriend's house!

I used coupon code ACESDEV which saved me an additional 12% off select items!
Plus I qualified for free shipping since my purchase was over $50.00!

Total Value: $120.71
Total Spent: $51.68!

I saved about 57% on my purchase!!

I am most excited to try the Galaxy Chic Baked Eyeshadow Palette!!
Are you a fan of BH Cosmetics? If so, what's your favorite palette?

Ipsy Glam Bag July 2013

Ipsy is a beauty subscription service where you pay $10 a month to receive a glam bag filled with deluxe samples or full size beauty products. I recently subscribed to Ipsy and am super excited to share with you the contents of my first glam bag!! I read some spoilers ahead of time, so I knew to some extent what to expect. I was pretty content with the products I received.

Ipsy Glam Bag

The bag was a bit smaller than I was expecting, but it's super cute. I love the clear pink plastic design, but it wouldn't double as a going out bag.

Sexy Hair Soy Renewal Beach Spray Conditioning & Texturizing Spray

I was happy to get this item because I don't buy as many hair products as I do makeup. Plus it's been a while since I've used a texturizing spray! I will use this a lot over the summer.

BH Cosmetics California Collection

Hollywood, San Francisco, & Malibu

I wasn't jumping up and down over this since I already have plenty of Eyeshadow due to yet another Sephora order that I just placed (post to follow). However, I do think this was a great idea to give people a feel for the different collections offered. Based on the colors in the sample palette, I'd go for Hollywood or San Francisco. Malibu could be a good going out shadow, but I don't think I'd get regular wear from the shade.

Benefit Cosmetics Benetint

This item was a variation item which could have been swapped with another product. The other items that I could have received were Derma E Microdermabrasion Scrub, Demeter Salt Air Perfume Oil Roll On, and Nailtini Straight Up Color Nail Lacquer in Mai Tai. Given the other options, I'm glad I got the much coveted Benetint! I like multi-use products, so I think I'll enjoy this lip & cheek stain.

Coola Mineral Face SPF 20 Unscented Moisturizer

This is one of the products I'm most likely to use often. I have been obsessed over sunscreen of late and I just love that this is for use on the face since most of my sunscreens are for use on the body.

Pop Beauty Pouty Pop Crayon (Rose Romance)

This was one item I was most excited about after seeing the spoilers-I love lip crayons! I had originally wanted this in one of the brighter colors shown during the sneak peaks, but I'm actually kind of glad I got this shade instead. I already own Avon Mark Make It Rich Lip Color Crayon in Punch, so this shade will add more diversity to my makeup bag.
