Color Me Monthly June 2014

Today I have my last Color Me Monthly box to show you!

June CMM

sweet and delicious
simmered in sugar crystals
yet stunningly tart

Candied Clementine

As you know, I was debating about canceling my subscription last month due to the fact that I can get a salon quality nail polish (in a color I know I will love) for less than the cost of this subscription. I was pleasantly surprised with the polish I received in last month's box, but I wondered how often they would send a color I would have picked out for myself. So upon receiving this month's polish, I decided  to cancel. Not only wasn't I in love with the color, but more than that I didn't care for how it applied. I felt the application was more difficult compared to the other two polishes I had received from this subscription service. It was so bad that I had to totally redo my whole manicure. I ended up trading the polish in for a Morgan Taylor polish at a Trade-In Event at Cosmo Prof earlier this month (which I will show swatches of at a later date). Ultimately, I felt I could get more for my money elsewhere, so I will be reviewing some new subscription boxes soon!!

Total Cost: $7.00

What subscription box would you recommend I check out next?

Urban Decay Limited Edition Nail Color

Today I am so excited to show you my swatches from a couple of polishes from Urban Decay! Urban Decay released two limited edition nail colors and I love them both so much!
I can't wait to see what they come out with next!

Addiction

These bottles are fabulous-I love the little skull on top of the polish cap! I also love the polish names-they are so fun!! And I am in love with this color-it's suppose to be a smoky metallic gunmetal, but it appears as though it's a gorgeous green with flecks of gold which might be due to its multidimensional shine.

Vice

This color is absolutely gorgeous! I love rich deep purples and Vice was no exception!! This color is super rich and intense!!

I have a hard time choosing between these two shades because I like them both for different reasons. Which one is your favorite? What color would you like to see UD come out with next?

China Glaze: Mimosa's Before Mani's

Today I'm going to show you a few swatches of one of my favorite polishes from China Glaze!
I got Mimosa's Before Mani's during my Trans Design Purchase back in June.

Mimosa's Before Mani's was part the Spring 2013 Avant Garden Collection. Unlike other collections by China Glaze, this was the only shade I was interested in from this line. I love the name of this color-I love mimosas and manicures!! Plus I'm a huge fan of corals, so this shade was right up my alley!

Are you a fan of China Glaze? If so, what's your favorite shade from the Avant Garden Collection?
If not, what brands of nail polish do you prefer?

Zoya Sparkle Nail Polish Collection

Hey guys, sorry for the infrequent posts lately! I just purchased a ton of stuff from Sephora and Urban Decay which I'm working on posting and I'm still working my way through the polish that I purchased from the Zoya Summer Flashback Sale a couple of months ago! But today I have some swatches from the Zoya Sparkle Collection for you!!

Mimi

I love purple polish and Mimi did not disappoint! It is truly a gorgeous color! The shade is rich looking-definitely the color of royalty!!

Alegra

This color reminds me of a pair of pink sequined ballet flats I use to own back in college. They were like a hot pink version of the ruby slippers in The Wizard of Oz and I absolutely loved them. Alegra is a deep fuchsia with plenty of sparkle-the perfect pedicure shade!

What do you think of sparkle nail polish? Which of these two do you prefer?

Zoya Summer 2012 Surf Collection

Remember my big Zoya Summer Flashback purchase? Today I'm going to show you my swatches from the polishes I bought from the Summer 2012 Surf Collection.

Kimber
I was a little disappointed in this polish given my love for pink. I thought I would love this color, but it didn't stand out to me. I wish it had more of a foil finish like other shades in the collection-I could hardly see the shimmer!!

Carly
Purple is one of my go-to colors. This is a pretty purple-I was glad to see that the metallic shimmer was more apparent in this shade.

Myrta
I don't own many orange shades, but I love this coral color-it's so warm and pretty! I absolutely love the foil finish on this polish!!

Meg
Green happens to be one of my favorite colors, but I'm very particular about my shade of green polish. But Zoya did not disappoint-this is such a gorgeous green!

Which is your favorite polish from this collection?

Sinful Colors: Cinderella

I am so excited to share with you my first experience trying Sinful Colors nail polish! I had known of Sinful Colors for years now, but never purchased a bottle. After reading some polish blogs showing swatches of Sinful Colors Cinderella, I  headed to Wegmans to pick up the coveted baby blue shade. While I'm not usually a fan of baby blue, the swatches of Cinderella were so pretty! The color perfectly resembles Cinderella's dress with a bit of shimmer. And it was only $1.99!

I had to use multiple coats, but it wasn't very difficult to work with and I felt the shade wore well. However, I prefer Blue Lotus from Mary Kay's Zen in Bloom Collection over this shade. Even though I'm not a big fan of this hue, many polish lovers adore it so I'd encourage you to check it out. While I didn't fall in love with this color, I'm still open to trying others from the Sinful Colors line.

Julep Warehouse Sale

Today I want to show you the super discounted goods I got from Julep's Warehouse Sale! Some of these items were almost 90% off!! But the first item I will show you is something I actually purchased from Julep when I bought my June Mystery Box!

Julep Tote Bag

This bag may have also been part of the Warehouse Sale or the Secret Store last month, but I actually purchased it when I bought my June Mystery Box. I collect eco friendly shopping bags to carry my stuff in most of the time. I have a large black one from Mary Kay that I love to use, and a few medium sized totes from Wegmans that I got for only a dollar a piece. I thought this bag would be close in size to the ones I get from Wegmans, but this bag was much smaller in comparison. It's not large enough for me to carry all of my everyday belongings, but it is just the right size to hold all my overnight beauty essentials.

Julep's Exclusive Make-Up Bag

This bag was rated very  highly and it's a pretty large cosmetic bag as the website suggests. However, upon seeing it in person I was found I didn't like the look of it. There is nothing wrong with the bag and I feel it does resemble the picture on the website, but sometimes you just have to see the real thing. I plan to give this bag away since I'm sure someone else would love it.

Lovely Lashes

As most people know you should change your eyelash curler pad every 3  months, but recently I read that you should also replace the actual eyelash curler every 6 months! I've never heard of this before!! Did you know about this?? Seeing as I'm on my second pad, I will be in need of a new curler soon!! And while I have a supply of mascara to last me the rest of the year, I figure I can always re-gift the mascara if I don't end up using it.

Cabochon Ring

I didn't quite understand what this was when I purchased it, but it was only a dollar! After receipt, I found out you polish the stone in the ring to create your own Cabochon Ring-which is so cool. This will be a nice little DIY project and I'll have something unique to wear afterwards to show my love for polish!!

Pomegranate Body Scrub & Body Crème

Since I loved Julep's Fresh Citrus Skincare Set so much, I just had to try out this set! I love pomegranates and exfoliating, so this is the perfect combo for me! The body scrub and crème were sold separately, each retailing for $18. However, due to the Warehouse Sale, I got these on sale for $2 a pop!! Talk about savings!! The deal was so good I stocked up and got a second set. I'm not sure if I'll keep the extras as back up or give them away for someone else to indulge in.

Matte Top Coat & Maria

I don't currently have a matte coat polish since I typically prefer my nails shiny, but I figured I'd switch things up. I'll post some swatches at a later date when I test it out. However, I've had my eye on Maria since I've become a Julep Maven a few months ago. I finally grabbed it during the sale and I love it more than I thought I would! It's a gorgeous shimmer shade, which is best seen outside!! I wish my pictures could capture the beauty of Maria in the sunlight. You will just have to trust me and grab a bottle for yourself! So far this has been my favorite polish from Julep!!

What do you think of my latest Julep purchase? What did you get from the Warehouse Sale?
Do you change your eyelash curler every 6 months? What type of curler do you like to use?

Zoya: Summer Flashback Sale!

I love Zoya nail polish as much as the next girl, but at $8 a pop I only tend to stock up when they have a special promotion. It had been awhile since I've purchased any new Zoya polishes since I skipped their Earth Day Nail Polish Exchange back in April. So when their Summer Flashback Sale came along, I just had to partake! Not only was it a B1G1 FREE on select polishes, but if you purchased 4 bottles (and got 4 free) you also received free shipping. Plus they threw in a free gift with my order!

My Zoya Haul

Free Gift With Purchase: Zoya Remove Plus Nail Polish Remover 20z

I am so excited to get this free with my purchase! I have never tried Zoya's nail polish remover before and it's gotten great reviews! It's a decent size bottle, so it should last me a while!!

Zoya Summer 2012 Surf Collection: Kimber, Carly, Myrta, & Meg

The only polish I previously purchased from this collection was Zuza, which happens to be one of my favorites! I skipped over the Beach Collection (which consisted of crème polishes) and went right for the Surf Collection due to the foil and metallic finishes!

Zoya Sunshine Collection: Rica & Faye

I went with a couple of polishes from this collection as well due to the glowing golden metallic sparkle! The other one from this collection that I can't stop thinking about is Kimmy, so I might need to buy it next time.

Zoya Sparkle Nail Polish Collection: Mimi & Alegra

As you all know I love glitter polish, so I was really into these foil-glitter, metallics! I already own Ivanka and Charla from this collection and love them both. Since Gilda wasn't part of the promo and Nidhi didn't have as much sparkle, I went with these two.

Did you take advantage of Zoya's Summer Flashback Sale? Which polishes did you pick up?

Express: Summer 2012 Collection

I don't usually shop much in Express' beauty section, but I did purchase a nail polish set I found on clearance last year. Here is the Express Summer 2012 Limited Edition Nail Enamel Collection:

I couldn't find any polish names on the bottles, but the set included a pink, purple, and orange shade. My mom tested out the pink shade, which wasn't as bright as you might expect a summer shade to be. I'm usually a big fan of pink nail polish, but I was a little disappointed with this color. While I thought the color looked nice on her, I'm not particularly thrilled to try it myself. I prefer hot or bright pinks or light pinks with metallic or pearl finishes.

I tried the purple shade first and it is my favorite out of the bunch. I'm usually drawn to deeper purples, so I was surprised to find I liked this color more than I thought. The application was nice, being very easy to apply. Even though this shade isn't my typical purple, I find it very suiting for summer and would wear again.

The orange shade was the brightest of the three colors-it really popped! However, even with multiple coats you could see a visible nail line, so if I'd recommend using underwear with this shade. Even though I wasn't crazy about trying this color since it's not a color I'd typically wear, I feel it's the best summer shade out of the set.

Which color is your favorite? Have you ever tried Express nail polish or their other beauty products?

Julep Mystery Box: Miami Destination Box Verison 3

This month Julep offered three mystery boxes, each with a different destination. The choices were Laguna Beach (Trendy, Vibrant, Fun), Miami (Glitzy, Bold, Energetic), and The Hamptons (Classic, Preppy, Glam)! While it would have been nice to have the budget to get all three, I decided to go with Miami since the picture and description was the most appealing.

After looking at some spoilers online, I was hoping to get the box containing the Rock Star Hand Crème, but no such luck. Here was the box I received:

The box included Dry Clean Invisible Dry Shampoo, which I would have been psyched about had I not just purchased one from the Secret Store and had my heart set on the Rock Star Hand Crème. But of course if the product ends up being as good as I hope it is, I won't mind having another one for later use!

While I didn't get the product I had hoped, Julep did throw in a sample of the Rock Star Hand Crème in my package. I tested it out last night and love it! It leaves your hands feeling hydrated for sure!! I will def be looking to purchase this in the future.

I also received the Strawberry Mint Lip Balm. I wasn't jumping up and down upon receipt of this because I still have a ton of chap sticks in my collection from the short period of time that I was selling AVON. But they do not come close to this lip balm! The tube's packaging is nice and sleek and the balm glides on smoothly! I can tell that this is going to be my new summer fav!

I got Paris, Isla, and Lauren for my polishes. I'm guessing that Paris is Glitzy, Lauren Bold, and Isla Energetic. I love glitter, metallic, and hot pink shades so these colors may work for me. I'll post my swatches when I test them out.

Did you get a mystery box this month? Which destination/version did you get?
