Ipsy Glam Bag June 2014

Evening Sirens! Tonight, I'm excited to share all the goodies I got in this month's Ipsy bag!

June Glam Bag

This month Rebecca Minkoff collaborated with Ipsy to bring us this Hawaiian-printed glam bag!

This month's theme is Pretty in Paradise!

NYX Cosmetics Butter Gloss (Éclair)
Full Size(0.27 fl oz)-$5.00 Value!

Every Ipster got one of these. You could have also received this in Crème Brulee, or Apple Strudel. I love NYX Cosmetics, so I was super excited to hear we would be getting one of these in our bags! It did in fact feel buttery on my lips while giving a nice soft color.

Nicka K New York Shimmer Eyeliner in green
 Full Size (0.1 oz)-$4.99 Value!

You could have instead received this in blue, Jesse's Girl Waterproof Eyeliner or Ofra Universal Eyebrow Pencil. Some Ipsters received a nail polish from this brand in a previous bag, but I haven't had the chance to try any of their products until now. I actually really liked this liner-the color is perfect for summer and the packaging is cool. I just wish the brush was a little bit easier to work with, but overall it's a good liquid liner. I'm definitely more interested in trying other items from this brand now!

Laneige BB Cushion (Light, Medium, Dark)
Sample Size (0.21 oz)-$6.80 Value!

This was one of the variation items in which we received two. You could have also received Ole Henriksen Truth To Go Wipes, Be A Bombshell Lash Out Mascara, Ofra Universal Eyebrow Pencil, ClariSEA Sea Salt Solutions Rapid Detox Charcoal Exfoliant, MD Solar Sciences Mineral Tinted Crème Broad Spectrum SPF 30 UVA-UVB Sunscreen, Skinn Olive & Enzyme Cleanser, Essence of Beauty Fine Fragrance Body Mist in Wind Kissed or Forever Paris, DERMAdoctor DD Cream Dermatologically Defining BB Cream with Broad Spectrum SPF 30, or Realtree for Her perfume.

I loved this foundation, but I wish they had sent a deluxe sized sample of my shade instead of a sampler pack of three shades. I especially loved the puff applicator that came with the foundation-it felt silky smooth on the skin and made the foundation easy to apply. Among the product's 5 attributes, I particularly like that it contains SPF 50 broad-spectrum protection. I would definitely consider purchasing this in the future.

Skinn Olive & Enzyme Cleanser
Deluxe Size (2 oz)-$15.00 Value!

This was the other variation item I received. I would have been super psyched to try this out if the product actually did what it states. But according to Beautipeida, while this cleanser will remove makeup, it can not exfoliate or purify skin. Apparently this cleanser only contains a small amount of papain from papaya and the amount is likely too low to be able to exfoliate. It's also disappointing to note that there is no research proving that orange oil can purify skin as this cleanser claims, but it may potentially cause skin irritation.

Marc Anthony Dream Waves Beach Spray
Size (1.52 oz)-$3.18 Value!

You could have instead received Dove Pure Care Dry Oil Nourishing Treatment with African Macadamia Oil or Carol's Daughter Sacred Tiare Anti-Breakage & Anti-Frizz Styling Cream.

I didn't need another texturizing spray since I haven't used much of the Toni & Guy Casual Sea Salt Texturizing Spray from my January Glossybox. But I tried this one out anyway, and I absolutely love the way it smells-it reminds me of coconuts! I will definitely be reaching for this product all summer long!

Total Cost: $10.00
Total Value: $34.97!

This was another great month for Ipsy! I love that this month's bag was designed by Rebecca Minkoff and can double as a clutch! Plus, I got to try some great beauty items this month, most of which I wouldn't have tried on my own.

Ipsy Glam Bag May 2014

While this month's Ipsy bag wasn't my favorite, I like that they have been deviating a little bit from makeup and including more skincare items.

May Glam Bag

This month we got a canvas bag!

This month's theme is Fresh Picks!

Pacifica Mineral Eyeshadow Duo (Duo 1: Celestial & Opal)
Deluxe Size (0.07 oz)- $3.92 Value!

Everyone got one of these, but some Ipsters received Duo 2: Moonbeam & Unicorn. These exclusive duos were customized just for Ipsy from the Mystical and Charmed palettes. I have been wanting to try Pacifica's body butters for a while, but haven't received any of their products through Ipsy until now. I was kind of disappointed that when I finally got to try the brand it was their Eyeshadow, but the packaging is kind of cute and the shades look pretty.

Hang Ten Classic Sport SPF50
Deluxe Size (1 fl oz)-$2.17 Value!

You could have instead received Jersey Shore Sans Tan Anti-aging Sunscreen. I've never heard of this brand before, but it's powered by COOLA, a brand I love. I am happy to get this in my bag because sunscreen is so important! I can definitely use more sunscreen and am glad Ipsy included some in everyone's bag because it is a must-have!

Hey Honey Take It Off! Exfoliating Honey Peel Off Mask
Deluxe Size (10 ml)- $7.00 Value!

This was a variation item. You could have instead received Nailtini Straight Up Color Nail Lacquer in Adios, Frappe, Champagne, Bloody Mary, or Caviar Cocktail, Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer, Olive Natural Beauty Lips in Refreshinging Rosemary Lip Balm, Calvin Klein Endless Euphoria, Boo Boo Cover-Up, Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Elusive, or Lulu Blossom Dreamscile Body Balm.

I really wanted the Too Faced bronzer or Revlon lip balm, but I'm glad to have the chance to try this. I love scrubs and masks, so I'm intrigued by this exfoliating mask!

Pur~lisse pur~moist hyrda balance moisturizer
Deluxe Size (0.5 oz)-$16.18 Value!

This was another variation item. You could have instead received Pur~lisse pur~protect spf 30, Balanced Guru No Frizz, Eva NYC Mane Tamer Leave In Cream, EVA NYC Rock-A-Wave Curl Cream, or EVA NYC Therapy Session Hair Mask.

This moisturizer is intended for normal to dry skin. While my skin is more normal to oily, I thought this was a nice moisturizer. I also really like the packaging with the Blue Lotus Flower design.

Derma E Microdermabrasion Scrub
Deluxe Size (1 oz)-$15.00 Value!

This was the last of the variation items. You could have also received Bare Foot Exfoliating Polish, LA Fresh Avene Eau Thermale Thermal Spring Water, Coastal Scents Classic Blender Brush Crease Natural, Crown Brush Pro Blending Fluff Brush, Crown Brush Chisel Shader, LA Fresh Travel Lite Facial Cleansing Wipes, Swissco Electroplated Eyelash Curler, Mee Beauty Pure Honey Infused Night Cream-Bee Nourished, or Balanced Guru No Frizz.

I'm not excited about this scrub because according to Beautypedia it contains several irritating citrus oils. I wish I had received the eyelash curler or one of the makeup brushes instead.

Total Paid: $10.00
Total Value: $44.27!

At first I was unhappy when I found out what I was getting in my Ipsy bag because I saw that I was missing out on some great items! I think if I got either the Revlon Lip Balm or Too Faced Bronzer it would have made up for the Derma E Microdermabrasion Scrub. Or it would have at least been better if the scrub was substituted for something I could actually use. But while I was a little disappointed in this month's bag, I'm glad it at least contained all new brands for me to try.

Ipsy Glam Bag April 2014

Tonight, I'm finally sharing this month's Ipsy bag!

April Glam Bag

I love the deep purple color and style of this month's bag.

This month's theme is Beauty Rocks!

Urban Decay 24/7 Velvet Glide-On Eye Pencil
Deluxe Size (0.03 oz)-$15.00 Value!

Everyone received this brand new eyeliner from Urban Decay! I already got one of these free with a recent Urban Decay order (which I still have to get around to posting), but I'm happy to have another. Urban Decay is my favorite cosmetic brand and you know how much I love my eyeliners!

Black Velvet

Rainbow Honey Nail Polish
Deluxe Size (5 ml)-$3.33 Value!

Midnight Fountain

This was a variation item. You could have instead received City Color Cosmetics White Gold Shadow & Highlighter Mousse or Elizabeth Mott Pop! Goes the Eyeshadow in Champagne. I was so happy I got the nail polish since I can never have too many! The color is just gorgeous-these pictures don't do it justice! But unfortunately it peeled pretty easily, so I probably wouldn't go out and buy a polish from this brand. But I'm still open to trying another polish from this line if I got it in a future subscription box.

Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion
Deluxe Size (0.25 oz)-$9.75 Value!

This was another variation item. Others received Benefit Lollitint, St Tropez Gradual Tan Plus Anti-Aging Mult-Action Face, or Cover FX Mattifying Primer with Anti-Acne Treatment. I'm not a big fan of this brand, so I wasn't excited to get this in my bag. But I might end up trying this out because I really love scrubs.

Mary Kay At Play Jelly Lip Gloss (Berry Me)
Full Size (0.32 fl oz)-$10.00 Value!

Some Ipsters got this in Teddy Bare. Others received Cailyn Tinted Lip Balm in Acid Pink or Apple Pink or Starlooks Longwear Lip Pencil in Naked. I was disappointed to get this product since I was a Mary  Kay Independent Beauty Consultant for 6 years, and have been looking to try new brands with this beauty subscription service. I'm not saying this is a bad product, I'm just not super excited about it and will probably be passing it along. I was really hoping to get the Cailyn Tinted Lip Balm in Acid Pink, but would have been happy to even get the Starlooks lip pencil since I'm a fan of their eyeliners.

Sexy Hair Root Pump Volumizing Spray Mousse
Deluxe Size (1.6 oz)-$6.00 Value!

This was one of the another group of variation products. You could have instead received So Seductive Such a Tease Lashes, Demeter Jasmine Perfume Oil Roll On, Coastal Scents Medium Shadow Brush, or KISS Looks So Natural Lashes in Shy, Pretty, Flirty, Sultry, or Vamp. I loved all the products I've tried from this brand so far, so I was excited to see this in my bag! I'm always looking for volumizing products for my fine hair, so I can't wait to try this product out.
I hope it really does give me big sexy hair!!

Total Paid: $10.00
Total Value: $44.08!

This was a mixed bag for me. While it was a high valued bag, I didn't like a couple of the items inside. Still, I got more than my ten dollars worth, so I can't really complain!

Ipsy Glam Bag March 2014

Evening Sirens! Tonight I'm sharing my March Ipsy bag!

This month's theme is Destination Beauty!

March Glam Bag

This month Ipsy collaborated with artist Klari Reis to create this bag depicting an abstract map of San Francisco! I viewed some of Klari's other works and found her petri dish paintings fascinating.
You can view her artwork at www.klariart.com.

BareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick (Get Ready)
Deluxe Size (0.05 oz)-$7.50 Value!

Others received BareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in Rebel. I was hoping to get the lipstick because I already have 2  of the Moxie lipglosses (Rebel being one of them) in my collection and have yet to try any of the lipsticks. This is a pretty rosy pink-it's def something I'd wear.

NYX Love in Rio Eye Shadow (VooDoo Love Spells)
Full Size (0.105 oz)-$6.00 Value!

Ipsters could have also received this in  No Tan Lines Allowed, Amazonian Babes, Segredos De Giselle, Barefoot In The Sand, Meet Me At The Copa, Moonlit Skinny Dip, Cabana Boy, Bikini Bottom, or The Brazilian or the Be a Bombshell Bora Bora Eyeshadow Quad.

VooDoo Love Spells (Without Flash/No Primer)

VooDoo Love Spells (With Flash/No Primer)

This trio features the NYX New Bow Compact which I think is super cute! I was so excited to get this Eyeshadow compact because I love NYX products and Be a Bomshell has been hit or miss with me. I was super psyched when I saw the name of this compact-it's so me! Unfortunately, the shadows aren't very pigmented, but I got decent wear using an Eyeshadow primer.

Chella Indigo Blue Eyeliner
Full Size (0.034 fl oz)-$24.00Value!

You could instead have received Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream SPF 42 PA+++ or  Nichole by OPI Roughles Nail Polish (On What Grounds?). I was really hoping to get the nail polish since the color is gorgeous and I love the texture trend. However, I've tried a couple of Chella products in the past and have never been disappointed with them. I'm really glad I ended up getting this product since it's new to the line and you know how much I love eyeliners! I don't pick up many liquid liners, and all the ones I have are black, so this makes a nice unexpected addition to my makeup collection. The color is very pretty and pigmented-I will have fun with this product!

Pixi Beauty Flawless Beauty Primer
Deluxe Size (0.4fl oz)-$9.00 Value!

This was one variation item you could have received. Other Ipsters got Pacifica Body Butter (Indian Coconut Nectar), Klorane Smoothing and Relaxing Patches with Soothing Cornflower, or Vita Liberata pHenomenal 2-3 Week Tan Lotion.

I'm not a huge fan of Pixi, so I was disappointed to see I was getting this in my bag. I was setting my sights on the Pacifica Body Butter since I still haven't had the chance to try any of their products. But at least I didn't get the eye patches or tanning lotion.

Total Paid: $10.00
Total Value: $46.50!

This was an awesome bag-definitely worth the ten dollars! Unlike some months, we only got 4 items in this bag. But if you count November where we got 6 items, we still average 5 items a month. We scored some higher end beauty products this month, so it makes sense that we'd get one less item to compensate for the price.

Ipsy Glam Bag February 2014

Now it's time for Ipsy!!! Unlike Birchbox, they had a Valentine's theme this month!

This month's theme is The Look of Love!

February Bag

This is such a cute bag! I just love the pink cheetah print inside!!

Pop Beauty Plump Pout Mini (Fuchsia Freesia)
Deluxe Size (0.14 oz)-$7.47 Value!

Everyone got one of these, but you could have also received it in the color Peony Petal. I've received a few of their products in previous Ipsy bags which I really enjoyed, so I'm sure I'll like this one too. I was also hoping to get this shade, so I'm glad Ipsy got it right!!

Zoya Nail Polish (Dot)
Full Size (0.5 fl oz)-$8 Value!

Every Ipster also got one of these, but some received it in the color Odette, a purple shade from the naturel collection. While this looks like a nice pink shade from the Awaken Spring collection, I'm  suppose to be getting a similar shade by Lauren B. Beauty in my Glossybox later this month. But I really can't complain since I love Zoya polish! Plus it's full size and a perfect shade for Valentine's!!

First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser with Red Clay
Deluxe Size (1 oz)-$5.11 Value!

This was a variation item. You could have instead received Uberliss RituOil, PHYTO-C Velvet Gel, Skyn Iceland Fresh Start Mask with Ice Age Mud, IPKN NY Moist & Firm BB Cream, Pacifica Hawaiian Ruby Guava Body Butter, NuMe Intense Renewal Mask, or Dr. Lin Skincare Acne Spot Corrector.  The only other item I wanted to try was the Pacifica product, but I am content with receiving the cleanser because it will come in handy at the gym!

J. Cat Beauty Eyelashes + Eyelash Glue (EL15)
Full Size-$3.99!

This was a variation item, in which you got two. Some Ipsters received this in style EL43, EL747L, EL747XS, EL01, EL05, EL13, EL15, EL20, EL66, or EL213. You could have instead received Jesse's Girl 9 Pan Eye Shadow Compact, City Color Be Matte Blush, Mally Beauty Evercolor Starlight Waterproof Eyeliner, or Tini Beauty Eyetini Cordial Cream Shadow + Base In One.

I would have rather received the Mally Beauty eyeliner since I am an eyeliner junkie and have yet to try any Mally Beauty products. But I'm more in need of lashes than liner, so I guess this wasn't a bad pick. I do like that they included glue, so I don't have to go out and purchase some in order to use these. But it would have been nice to get a different style since this one reminds me of the Foxy False Eyelashes I got from BH Cosmetics.

Jesse's Girl 9 Pan Eye Shadow Compact (The Eyes Have It)
Full Size (0.22 oz)-$3.99!

You could have also received this palette in Tickled Pink, Brown Eyed Girl, and Behind Blue Eyes. I'm so happy that Ipsy matched this palette to my eye color, so this will compliment me well. I really liked the liquid liner I received in my September bag, and this palette also didn't disappoint. The shadows have decent pigmentation and the colors are pretty flattering. This turned out to be my favorite item in this month's bag!

Without Flash

With Flash

Total Paid: $10.00
Total Value: $28.56!

Overall, this was a pretty good bag this month. I was surprised by how much I ended up liking the Eyeshadow palette. It just goes to show you that sometimes it's good to try out new products that you may have prejudged. You just might end up finding a hidden gem!!

Ipsy Glam Bag January 2014

Hey Mermaids! Today I want to finally show you what I got in this month's Ipsy bag!!

This month's theme is 19 Reasons!

January Bag

This might be my least favorite bag design. While I love the blue and green colors, I'm not thrilled with the graphic on the bag.

Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask
Deluxe Sample (1 fl oz)-$4.95 Value!

Other Ipsters received Benefit the POREfessional, Coastal Scents Small Foundation Brush, Sexy Hair Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave In Conditioner, or Marula Pure Marula Facial Oil. While I was hoping to get the Sexy Hair product, I am excited to try out this hair mask because I've never used one before. I think it will be a nice addition to my hair care routine. It smells really nice, kind of like a light coconut scent. And I should be able to get multiple uses out of it since I recently cut my hair short like Amanda Seyfriend's style in the movie In Time.

Elizabeth Mott Smooth Shadow (Pearl)
Deluxe Size (0.7 g)-$7 Value!

You could have also received this in the color Penny or Yaby Liquid Foundation in Buff. You can use this smooth shadow as an eyeliner, eyeshadow, or highlighter. However, I have other eyeshadow I'd rather use, so I will be putting this in my giveaway pile.

MicaBeauty Tinted Lip Balm (Fiesta)
Deluxe Size (2.5 g)-$18.75 Value!

Ipsters could have also received this in Natural or (MALIN + GOETZ) Mojito Lip Balm. I kind of wanted to try the Mojito Lip Balm since I've never tried any (MALIN + GOETZ) products before, but I am content getting this since I liked the MicaBeauty Eyeshadow I received in my August Glam Bag. Plus, rumor has it that MicaBeauty and Cailyn Cosmetics may be using the same PLM (private label manufacturer), so their products are pretty much the same. Since I loved the Cailyn Cosmetics Tinted Lip Balm I received in my September Ipsy Bag, I'm sure I'll enjoy this one too.

Proactiv+ Mark Fading Pads
Deluxe Size (4 Pads)-10.93 Value!

This was one of two variation items I received. Other items you could have received were Nourish Organic Lightweight Moisturizing Face Lotion, Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Dry Shampoo, Absolute! Makeup Cleansing Tissue, Willa On The Go Face Towelettes, Epice Purifying Exfoliant, Faith Aromatherapy Tahitian Monoi Anti-Aging Sugar Scrub, Balanced Guru Balm Me Up Organic Sweet Cocoa & Tangy Body Balm, Skiin Soothing and Smoothing Eye Cream, Apothederm Bright Skin Serum, and LeeAnni Eco 3 in 1 Revolution.

I was disappointed to see Proactiv+ in my Ipsy bag. I don't suffer from acne besides the occasional zit, so I don't see getting much use out of these. Plus, according to the Cosmetics Cop, these pads contain strong irritants, and the pH is outside the range needed for the active ingredient to exfoliate skin and improve marks from past breakouts. So if I'm going to get an acne treatment product, I'd at least like it to work!!

Nourish Organic Lightweight Moisturizing Face Lotion
Deluxe Size (0.5 oz) $6.47 Value!

This was the other variation item I received. I would have liked to try the Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Dry Shampoo or Faith Aromatherapy Tahitian Monoi Anti-Aging Sugar Scrub, but I am still excited to try this product out. It smells really nice and you all know how much I am loving rosewater lately!

Total Paid: $10.00
Total Value: $48.10!

Even though this was one of the highest valued bags I've received, it was a bit of a disappointment this month. While I was happy to see Ipsy incorporating more skincare and non-makeup items this month, I wasn't thrilled with Proactiv+ being in the mix.
